The Doctorate in Chemistry at the University of Chile is an Interfaculty postgraduate program developed by the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
This doctorate is academic-scientific, and its main objective is to train graduates of the highest level, capable of directing and autonomously carrying out original research whose results constitute a substantial contribution to scientific and technological knowledge in chemistry.

The Doctorate in Chemistry lasts eight semesters and has a total of 240 credits.
The set of curricular activities includes mandatory courses, elective subjects, together with the development, presentation and defense of the doctoral thesis that constitutes the central activity of the Program.
Individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree or a professional title in the field of Chemistry, where the level, content, and duration of the studies are equivalent to the Bachelor’s degree of the University of Chile, may apply. Additionally, those who hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry from this or another university, ensuring satisfactory preparation for the program, will be evaluated by the Academic Committee.

Interested candidates must apply through the website https://www.postgradoquimica.cl/. The application must include:
- Curriculum Vitae, with certificates or documents verifying teaching experience, conference presentations, publications, or other relevant activities
- Copies of previous publications and work
- Certificates of degrees and academic qualifications
- Official transcripts of university studies
- Ranking certificate or Form No. 1 in CONICYT-ANID format
- A letter expressing motivation to join the program and a commitment to complete dedication if accepted
- Any additional documents deemed appropriate by the Academic Committee
For international students:
- Official transcripts of university studies converted to the University of Chile’s grading scale (1.0 to 7.0)
- Commitment letter for obtaining health insurance
