the Local Self-Assessment Committee (CLA) at the end of 2017 by University Decree No. 8315, which promulgated the Institutional Self-Assessment Regulation of the University of Chile.<\/p><p>Institutional Self-Assessment is a systematic evaluation process where the university and each of its academic units come together to analyze, in a participatory manner, the university&#8217;s activities. This process is based on the objectives declared in the University Statute, the Institutional Development Plan (PDI) of the University of Chile, and the Strategic Development Plan (PDE) of each Academic Unit.<\/p><p>In the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, self-assessment involves preparing a report that covers undergraduate teaching, graduate teaching, postgraduate teaching, research, extension, and community engagement, compared against the fulfillment of the PDE. If the CBE deems it necessary, it will ask the IR to modify the protocol. The IR may also be summoned to a meeting to resolve aspects not well established in the Protocol for handling and caring for animals.<\/li><li>The IR has 30 days to resend the protocol with the requested corrections to the CBE with the signatures of the IR and the Director of the corresponding department.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The documents that must be sent to the CBE are:<\/p><ul><li>Application letter from the IR requesting an ethical review and evaluation of the project. The letter should be in PDF format and sent by email (fill out the application letter form using the related link).<\/li><li>Send the PDF using the Research Project email to the CBE president, Dr. Alfonso Paredes\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/aparedes@ciq.uchile.cl\/\">aparedes@ciq.uchile.cl<\/a>. This involves implementing quality standards that include Good Biosafety Practices across all activities, providing ongoing training to all team members to enhance efficiency and productivity, and maintaining tools to ensure the quality systems remain effective. Its primary function is to manage and create general guidelines that define a local policy of social harmony, gender equality, and incentives for participation by women and people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities in scientific activities.<\/p><p>On July 21, 2019, the University\u2019s legal department sent a legal review of Faculty resolution No. 236 from July 1, 2019, which created the Office of Gender Equality and Diversity. The creation of the office was unanimously approved by attending, voting members of the Faculty Board convened on June 28, 2019.<\/p><p>The resolution states that this office will contribute to \u201cthe prevention of cases of sexual and gender violence among members of the university community and will continuously advance improvements to university policies. Daily implementation in the social and cultural sphere will be designed to prevent violence, eradicate discrimination, and achieve gender equality for all members of the university community.\u201d<\/p><p>This Office is 3-tiered, with an equal number of representatives \u2013 3 per layer. In addition to the President, the board will have three regular members and three alternate members, appointed by the Council of the respective Faculty or Institute through a draw among academic staff with the rank of professor.
